Following on from the Welsh Brew Lemon Iced Tea Recipe, why not try one of these chilled tea cocktail recipes, perfect for a summer gathering or BBQ party! With a wide variety of fruity and spicy tea blends, you can use infused tea to create any of your favourite cocktails. Here we have chosen three of our favourite recipes to get you started.

Creating the Perfect Tea Cocktails

When making cocktails, every ingredient plays an important role, and the tea is no exception. Using a high-quality loose leaf tea or herbal infusion creates a much cleaner, richer flavour than cheaper alternatives, making all the difference in the finished drink.

For these recipes, choose premium teas with bold, natural flavours. Whether you prefer fruity infusions, zesty herbal blends or refreshing green tea, each brings its own unique character to your cocktail. Before you begin, brew your tea in advance and allow it to cool completely. Chilling it in the fridge for an hour or two will give you the best results.

Mint Green Tea Mojito

A refreshing twist on the classic mojito using chilled mint green tea.

Ingredients (makes 2-3)

  • 400ml Moroccan mint green tea, brewed and chilled
  • 100ml dark rum
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 50ml sugar syrup
  • Large handful of fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes

Method

  1. Brew the mint green tea and chill thoroughly.
  2. Reserve a few mint sprigs for garnish.
  3. Lightly clap the remaining mint leaves between your hands to release their natural oils.
  4. Add the mint to a large jug with the lime juice and several lime wedges.
  5. Gently muddle everything together.
  6. Pour in the rum and sugar syrup.
  7. Fill the jug with ice before adding the chilled mint tea.
  8. Stir well, then pour into ice-filled highball glasses.
  9. Garnish generously with fresh mint.

Serving Notes

It’s crisp, aromatic and wonderfully balanced, making it an ideal drink for garden parties and sunny afternoons. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar syrup to suit your taste.

Mixed Berry Tea Russian

  • 25ml raspberry liqueur (such as Chambord) per glass
  • 25ml vodka per glass
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh raspberries and blackberries for garnish

Method

  1. Brew the fruit tea according to the instructions and allow it to cool completely.
