It’s been a busy few months here at Welsh Brew Tea, as you may have spotted. We have been supplying all the major supermarkets in wales for nearly twenty years with our blend of Kenyan and Assam Welsh Brew Tea and that keeps us pretty busy. However, over the past few years we have been investing huge amounts of time and effort into developing some great new products and also new ways of getting them to you. We are very aware of the media revolution going on with everything from Facebook and Twitter to websites and Pintrest ( to name but a few). There’s also a Tea revolution going on and we love it. We have searched the corners of the globe looking for new teas, blends, infusions, herbs and even some spices and we have come up with our own unique Murroughs Welsh Tea Birds. After much thought (and a whole lot of tastings) we have developed twelve exciting teas. We have used lovely whole leaf blends and put them into beautiful pyramid bags which give the whole leaf teas room to infuse, expand and be set free.
What teas have we got?
There’s Earl Grey or Mixed Berry Infusion as well as Lemon and Ginger or Camomile. We also have a fresh Peppermint and a Moroccan mint (made with gunpowder green). If spices are your thing then there’s an aromatic Indian Spiced Chai or if you like pure green teas then ours won’t disappoint (there’s also a green tea infused with Jasmine) If you love the benefits of green teas but like something a little more exotic then there’s green teas with mango and bergamot (the fragrance alone will convince you on this one). There’s also a Green Rooibos blended with orange (choice as the South Africans may say) and last but by no means least is our very own Welsh Breakfast Tea, this will make your everyday cuppa into a great day cuppa.
Ground coffee too.
We really have been busy. Working directly with the coffee growers we have developed three great new ground coffees. Keeping it simple they are mild, medium and strong, but Murroughs Welsh Brew ground is far from simple on the pallet. The mild is 100% Arabica coffee with all the rich qualities you’d expect. Sipped with a salty cooked breakfast there’s elements of sweetness here which are irresistible. The Medium coffee blends this Arabica coffee with Robusta and is roasted medium-dark giving a highly versatile coffee, with its chocolaty notes and smooth flavours it’s a treat at any time of the day. This leaves the strong coffee but in my house there’s never any left. A darker-roasted blend of Central American Arabica and African Robusta beans delivers a strong and full flavoured coffee in the continental style (I dare you to drink this and not be wowed).
And Finally… There’s loads more going on but we are all busy people. So if I can finish with this one small promise. We want to tell you what’s going on here with us but we also want to know what’s happening out there. Where do you enjoy your Brew? Who do you drink it with? Do you have any great story about teas or coffees? Do you have any questions for us? They don’t have to be Welsh Brew related and we’ll try and answer as quickly and as well as we can. There’s going to be Tea News with important issues raised…To dunk or not to dunk, which teapots for you and the holy grail of tea questions. How do you make the perfect cuppa.
Thanks for your time and have a great day…

As an exile living in Kent I never leave Wales without a stash of Welsh Brew. I was down for the Ireland game last weekend and stocked up before I headed back across the bridge. I have enough until my next visit. The blend tastes just as good even with our hard Kentish water.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Peter, Thanks for letting us know you like our #VeryLovelyCuppa. I hope you didn’t get stopped by border control I hear they have very strict rules on what’s allowed out of the country ; ) Great day of rugby too!
